Applications for The Coffee Music Project NYC 2016 now open

After the success of The Coffee Music Project NYC 2015, the competition will be returning to New York for a second year in September 2016.

36 contestants will be selected to go through to the preliminary rounds, which will take place at Pianos NYC on September 11, 12 and 13, 2016.

3 contestants from each of the preliminary rounds will be selected to go through to the finals. All 9 finalists will perform at The New York Coffee Festival from September 16-18, 2016 before competing in the finals at the notorious Webster Hall on September 20, 2016.

Proceeds from the live rounds directly support Project Waterfall, a charity initiative to deliver clean water and sanitation to coffee growing communities.

The Competition
The Coffee Music Project is a high profile music competition showcasing the creativity and talents of emerging musicians while engaging a deep spirit of community among those who share a passion for great music and coffee culture. New York City is notorious for the great coffee culture and a wealth of incredible up and coming musicians and we couldn’t be more excited to bring the Coffee Music Project to the Big Apple for a second year running.

Artists at all levels can submit two YouTube videos of performances, which the judges will assess. The top 36 contestants will be chosen to perform during the competition and required to submit an original song with some relation to coffee or a coffee shop experience.

The winner of the competition will receive $1,000 cash, a trip to London to perform at The London Coffee Festival 2017 and The Coffee Music Project London 2017, and a professional recording session. All eight finalists will also receive guaranteed slots to perform at The New York Coffee Festival, along with having one song featured on The Coffee Music Project NYC 2015 album.

The Cause
The Coffee Music Project supports Project Waterfall, which is committed to bringing clean water and sanitation to the communities which grow our coffee. All profits from the live shows will directly support this valuable cause.
